Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to all appliance repair services provided by C.M Engineering Group LTD across Liverpool and surrounding areas. By booking an appointment, you agree to these terms. A standard £75 call-out charge applies to all booked appointments. This charge includes the initial visit, diagnostic assessment, labour carried out during the visit, and a 3-month workmanship warranty on the specific fault repaired. The call-out charge remains payable even if the appliance cannot be repaired during the visit, if no fault is found, if additional parts are required, if access to the appliance is unavailable, if the working environment is unsafe or unsuitable for repair, or if the customer chooses not to proceed with further repair work. Where repair cannot be completed due to access or environmental issues, the original call-out charge will be carried forward to a rearranged appointment once those issues have been resolved.

Some appliances may contain multiple faults. In certain cases, underlying or secondary faults may only become apparent once the original fault has been repaired. C.M Engineering Group LTD operates a "fix a fault to find a fault" policy, meaning additional faults discovered during or after repair may require further labour, diagnostics, or replacement parts, which may incur additional charges. Replacement parts are charged separately unless otherwise agreed in writing. Any additional repair work outside the original diagnosis will be discussed with the customer before proceeding wherever reasonably possible.

Appointments cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled booking time will be charged in full. If nobody is present at the property at the agreed appointment time, or access cannot be gained, the full call-out charge may still apply. Payment is due upon completion of the visit unless otherwise agreed in writing. We reserve the right to withhold further work, reports, or replacement parts until payment has been received in full.

Completed repair work is covered by a 3-month workmanship warranty from the date of repair. The warranty applies only to the specific fault diagnosed and repaired during the original visit and does not cover unrelated or subsequent faults, different components failing after repair, customer misuse, accidental damage, neglect, improper operation, blocked filters, poor maintenance, power surges, external causes, or appliances that have been tampered with or repaired by third parties after our visit. Any warranty claim will be assessed by our technician before any further work is authorised.

Customers are responsible for ensuring safe and reasonable access to the appliance and a safe working environment for our engineers. We reserve the right to refuse or stop work where conditions are unsafe or unsuitable. C.M Engineering Group LTD maintains public liability insurance for the services provided, and details can be made available upon reasonable request.

While every effort is made to complete repairs professionally and safely, C.M Engineering Group LTD accepts no liability for pre-existing faults or damage, manufacturer defects, loss of food, loss of income, loss of business, or any indirect or consequential losses arising from appliance failure or delayed repair. Any quotations provided are estimates based on the information available at the time and may change if further faults are identified during inspection or repair. Customer information is handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection laws and used only for service delivery, invoicing, communication, and legal obligations. Nothing within these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
